Future of Engineering Education Vertically Integrated Project (VIP)

About the VIP

This project was run by the head of the General Engineering department, Jack Bringardner, at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering. In this project, three worksheets surrounding the Engineering Design Process were given to first year engineering students in the introductory course EG 1004. A survey was given to students prior to the course (and hence, prior to completing the worksheets) and after completion of the course and the Semester Long Design Project, assessing engineering self-efficacy. The survey was broken into four sections: Confidence, Anxiety, Motivation, and Success. The results were analyzed in the paper.

Through this project I received my CITI training certificate for Social & Behavioral Research. Additionally, this paper was submitted to ASEE for publication and the conference in 2024.

The Work
